Training Hike!

Have I mentioned that I love hiking? So when the "experts" tell me the best way to train for hiking IS hiking, I say Hallelujah, put on my hiking shoes, and get busy hiking! Even when I am not training, I usually hike a couple of days a week simply because I enjoy walking, thinking, listening to podcasts and sermons, and exploring God's beautiful creation.

A month after my celiac diagnosis and my last physical therapy appointment, I was feeling better and was wondering if I had another thru-hike in me. I decided to test out my trail legs with a 400-mile section hike of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), which I thru-hiked in 2014. I started my hike where the PCT crosses Highway 36 near Chester, California on September 15, 2023, and hiked to Oregon, where the trail crosses I-5 near Ashland. It took 20 days and was an amazing hike! I had a great time and I felt better physically and emotionally than my 2014 hike of the PCT. Even before I was on the Greyhound bus home, I was already thinking about my next hike.

Below are a few pictures from this hike and a link to the Google Photos Album with all the images.
