| A pedestrian cattle gate! |
I’ve seen Matt a few times on trail, but today we were at a water cache mid morning, started talking and decided to hike together for a while. He is a bit faster than me so he slowed down slightly and I tried to peddle faster!
He is a biologist who works with forest management so there was plenty to talk about as we walked through an ever changing landscape. I feel smarter after hiking with him.
It started raining AGAIN in the afternoon and we were wet and cold when we stopped to camp about one mile before the no camping zone around Flagstaff, AZ.
We ate dinner together and I went to sleep with the faint sounds of highway noise in the distance.
