Happy Trails!

I made it to Patagonia, Arizona! I’ve got less than 55 miles remaining to the border of Mexico! It’s Sunday, November 12th and I’m leaving town this afternoon and will finish the trail on the afternoon of the 15th. I have to backtrack a couple of miles once I reach the border to a road accessible by car where I’ll be picked up and dropped off in Tucson. I fly out on the afternoon of Friday the 17th. I’ve got one more mountain to climb, 9,000 foot Miller Peek, and then down, down, down to the border fence and monument. 

I’m staying at a unique hostel in Patagonia called TerraSol. https://www.marytolena.com/terrasol/ Mary, the owner, caters to hikers with everything we need including loaner clothes while we wash our stinky hiker clothes at the laundromat next door, WiFi, shower, restroom, outdoor kitchen, charging, and plenty of space to camp. I’m charging my phone right now while I write! 

I’ll follow up with a post after I reach the border and then write some additional posts once I have time to reflect on the experience.
